Deathloop is an action-platformer about a young woman named Colt Vahn. She’s played by the wonderfully talented Yaya, who voices her in the trailer. Colt is a party-loving, wannabe-heroine, who spends her days hanging out in party islands, doing whatever she wants. She’s got a little bit of everything to her, but she prefers to party and drink to the point of death.
Deathloop is about going through a variety of obstacles and going along with a party-loving, wannabe-heroine, who seems to have a bit of everything. Colt is still a bit wacky too, though, in that she seems to have some sort of mental illness that causes her to see things through a somewhat distorted perspective.
Deathloop is set in a world where there is no social hierarchy or power structure, and the player is free to do as she pleases, which is pretty much what most party-based genres are. And that’s not just a bad thing, but a good thing. It means that if there’s any aspect of the game that you don’t like, I’m sure we haven’t even told you about it.
The wacky thing about Deathloop is that its characters are all very different and quirky. This is because the protagonist is really just a person who uses his wacky, quirky personality as a way to cope with the fact that he’s not someone that you’d normally interact with. In fact, even most of his enemies are in this mode, and the game is constantly trying to force him to go through with his plan to end the world. It’s a really neat little gameplay mechanic.
