When I was a student at a very prestigious university, there was a lot of pressure to become a technical writer. While this was definitely a part of my job description, the pressure wasn’t always there. I remember one of my teachers would ask us to complete a written assignment that he assigned to us, but he told us it would be better if we didn’t finish it. The point was that we would have to prove that we were a good technical writer before we would get the job.
It seems that while I was doing a school project, I had to do a written assignment. I was required to write about a movie, but instead of writing about the plot of the movie, I was required to write a short essay which was just a list of things I liked about the movie. The problem was that I wasnt a real person writing for the computer that submitted the essay. I was just a character.
In his essay, the computer wrote about things that he liked about the movie. He liked the scene where the main character is a girl who was in a car accident and loses her memory. He liked the fact that the girl drives a very old car. He liked how the car drives itself and he likes the fact that the girl seems to enjoy driving it. He liked the fact that the girl seems to have a good driving sense.
The computer is actually very clever in his essay, he is aware of the fact that the main character is female and that she is a car driver, but he is also very aware of the fact that the car was made by and was driven by a very old man. He knows that the car has a problem, that it is not made by a good car builder and that the engine is not made by a good car mechanic.
This is a great example of how the world doesn’t have to be perfect. It is possible to be an excellent technical writer and still have a bad car. This is especially true for those writers who are trying to become more aware of the world around them.

Things are always changing, even for those who are constantly changing. The car is made by a very old man and the engine is made by a very young mechanic. This is not a good situation.
Being aware of the world around you is important for the technical writer, but without an understanding of the people around you, you could be blindsided by unexpected changes. With that in mind, what exactly are the technical writers doing? To be more specific, what they are doing is making it more likely that you are unaware of these changes.
