I am so so so excited for you that you are all so excited to see the new documentary “Crosby Marketing” premiering at 7pm tonight on the PBS station. This is a documentary about all of the marketing decisions that Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (CSNY) made that changed the way the world thought about and perceived rock ‘n’ roll. It’s a very fun movie that you can watch on your computer or via your TV.
Crosby Marketing is a great documentary, and I think it deserves a better trailer to match the new album coming out with the same name. I’m just going to repeat the title and show you my favorite song from the documentary. “Crosby Marketing” by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. That’s my favorite Crosby song, and I think that’s the only thing that Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young has done more for rock n roll than anything else.
Thats not the only thing though. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young have released two albums in the last three years. And these two albums are very much their genre. “I’ve Been Thinking” was the first album, “The Best of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young” the second one. These two albums are classic rock n roll.
In fact, the album and the band seem to be a match made in heaven. And I mean this as a compliment. These two guys are at the top of their game. And a lot of rock ‘n roll bands seem to be. A lot of them are not the best in their genre, but they still hold their own in a very competitive world. And that’s true of Crosby, Stills, Nash amp Young.
Ive Been Thinking is a classic rock classic. They are a band who have held their own in the genre, they are not perfect, but they are the best. And in the process they have created a legacy that will be remembered for a long time.
Some people take it as a compliment that a band who are all about the music is also so good at business. But I think it’s more a compliment to the band that they have the ability to be successful at something that is so important to them. Most bands fail for a variety of reasons and if you listen to that music, Crosby, Stills, Nash amp Young, or any of the artists Ive Been Thinking, they will continue to succeed.
The fact that they are able to make a living selling music, and make it seem like a fun occupation, is because they have an excellent manager, and great songwriting and musicians. No one had the ability to write a great song like Neil Young (or even Neil Young himself). In fact, even though Neil Young was the most famous rock star in history up until the mid-1970s, he was largely a rock ‘n’ roll novelty act.
As a fan of the rock n roll genre, and having seen so many of Young’s music, you can be sure that if Young had ever made a good rock ‘n roll record, he would have been a huge hit. But he wasn’t. So, you can be positive that no matter what musical genre Nash or Young created, they would have been at the top of the charts.
Crosby has often been the subject of controversy in the rock n roll world. His first ever record, the first of many albums that were so heavily criticized in the early 1970s. His song “Rock and Roll” was banned from the UK singles chart for years. His song “I Want a New Drug” was banned from the UK album sales charts for similar reasons. There were many other examples of his music being banned from the charts.
Crosby, Nash, & Young was just one of many examples. The band’s music was often banned from the charts and many of their albums were released on non-approved labels. Some critics believe that Crosby, Young, & Nash’s debut album was so bad that it was forced into the Top 100 Albums of all time. Others think it was actually good.
