I love making money out of the car I drive. I love that I don’t have to be worried about spending money at a gas station or store. I love the convenience of knowing I can get a car loan from my bank account when I need one, and without having to sacrifice my independence.
But while being a car-loan-brisbane kind of guy, I need to have a better idea of the cars that are available to me, how much I can afford, and how my car will actually be able to achieve my goals.
So I figured I’d do a little research into a car that I can buy for less than a quarter of the price of my used car. The best car for this project would be a 2013 model Mazda3 with a 3.2 litre V6 engine. This car would be much cheaper than my most recent used car, the Ford Focus which is currently averaging $24,000 a year.
In Australia, the Mazda3 is the most popular car for purchase. The average price of the 3.2 litre engine in Australia is just over $22k, and it is also the cheapest car to buy there. Because the 3.2 litre engine is lighter and less powerful than the other engines in the Mazda3, it has an additional advantage in Australia and other countries that price is a factor in purchasing a car.
The main advantage of the Mazda3 is its low price. People prefer the Mazda3 because it is a more fuel efficient vehicle. The 2.5 litre engine in the Ford Focus can be found for approximately 16k a year when used in Australia.
But with the Mazda3, you have to be careful about how much you finance. It is a very similar car to a Hyundai Elantra, and because the Mazda3 is a more fuel efficient vehicle, it can have a lower price premium. It is only really worth buying at around 30k after a few years of servicing.
The Mazda3 is a lot more expensive than the Elantra, but it is more expensive than the Ford Focus. But the Mazda3 is more fuel efficient, so it makes more sense to save money on fuel for maintenance and to add a bit of insurance. This isn’t the best reason to buy it, but it is one of the more plausible ones.
The Elantra is the better car. But for a Hyundai, the Elantra is more expensive in general. The only real reason to buy the Hyundai is a fuel saving alternative with a lower premium. The Mazda3 is a lot more fuel efficient than the Elantra, so it makes a much better trade-off between the two. In the end, it makes the most sense to just pick one of the two and save a few bucks for the other.
I love the Mazda3. But I’m not too fond of the Elantra, primarily because the Mazda3 has more options while the Elantra has less (and costs more in the end). I think the Elantra is best for people who are not comfortable with a lot of options.
The Elantra is a very good car, but it does have one major drawback: it is more expensive than the Mazda3. So it isn’t a great car for someone who is just starting out and/or in a hurry. But it’s also a great car for those who aren’t really sure where to begin. If you are a new user or you are a used car person, the Mazda3 is a great choice.
