We’ve seen this happen a lot lately. Big companies that need to get their message out don’t want to mess with the big guns. They don’t want to be seen as “big” as their competition. They’re just fine with sending out a bunch of “big” messages. It’s a strategy that’s worked well for everyone from the U.S. Navy to the U.S. Postal Service.
Companies that want to get their message out are going to get the best results if they use their massive resources in the right way. We all know that the best way to advertise something is to tell people that it exists. A website with lots of advertising is the best way to get people to click on your link. It will be a more effective and more memorable way to reach your audience if it has a strong social media connection, it has a great name, and it has a strong web presence.
Here at Postal, we use a lot of paid social media sites to promote our company. The three largest in our portfolio are Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ (and we’re working on a YouTube channel). However, we also have a handful of other social media sites that we like that are not particularly well known or have the highest click-through rates. These are the ones that we consider when I’m writing up social media marketing plans for myself.
The one we use the most is Giphy.com. Giphy is the largest of all the social media sites and has the highest reach. We’ve had a team of marketing interns go through all of our sites and have found a way to make our posts as prominent as possible. It’s a lot of work, but it really pays off when people find our videos and our blog posts.

One of the cool things about Giphy is the variety of marketing tips and tricks you can find. For example, one of its helpful features is the ability to search by your interests and your location. You can quickly find a particular YouTube video, a music video about your favorite TV show (or even a specific movie), a video about a book you want to read, and so on.
Giphy also offers a lot of information on ways to get more traffic, get more followers, and more importantly, get more eyeballs on certain keywords. In this case, you can find ways to get a lot of traffic from people who are interested in the exact same things as you are. For example, you can find a video that has a great, easy-to-follow URL that has a lot of traffic.
Giphy is another way to get traffic on a specific website. We have a lot of video content that we upload to YouTube, and a lot of people use the “Video on YouTube” link to follow us on Twitter. We even have a “Video on Twitter” link, and that’s how we get all of our traffic from Google.
I know we’ve made a lot of mistakes, and I know there are a lot of mistakes out there, but I think we can do better. If we all followed YouTube’s new rules, then YouTube would be the best place to watch all the best videos. If we did our best to create some great content, but didn’t follow YouTube’s rules, then we’d be stuck watching crappy videos.
