Selecting objects in Visio, SketchUp and SolidWorks are easy! All you need to do is click on the desired object once. If it’s not a group of objects, then an __ tab appears on the ribbon only when an object is selected. In addition, all three applications have different ways of selecting multiple objects: one-by-one or by contiguous area selection.

In Visio, click on the desired object and then hold down the Control key. Use mouse to select additional objects while still holding down the Control key. Release the control when done selecting objects.

In SketchUp, use the (left) mouse button to select one or more objects in a single selection mode; drag with the left mouse button held down over more than one desired node to create a contiguous area selection. Right, Mouse Button is used for multiple selections of individual nodes within your current view plane only.

Holding ‘Shift’ will allow you to move these selected items without changing their orientation relative to each other nor their location in space as they are moved – from one position back into another., __tab appears on the ribbon only when an object is selected.
