We’re not really all that good at marketing.
I think it’s great that you say that, because it’s true. Marketing is a hard thing to do well. A lot of people think that it is easy, that you just write a press release, or go to the mall and grab a coupon for the next store. In reality, it’s a lot more work.
Marketing is also not a process that is easy for the majority. If you are really good at marketing, then you can find a company that will do it for you. For example, if you want to sell a lot of stuff, you will have to find a company that will do that for you. I think we need to have more companies that are really good at marketing, that do it well, but that don’t sell anything unless there is a need for it.
Its a lot of work, but it is also a process that we need to use, as well. If you are really good at marketing, then it is easier for you to find a company that will do it for you. As for the rest of it, you can do it yourself.
The process of marketing involves a lot of thinking, planning, and a lot of reading. We need to be very clear about what we want to and don’t want to do. If we go ahead and do that, we often find out quickly what we don’t want to do. Just because it would be cool to do something doesn’t mean that we will enjoy it.
When you are marketing a product or service, you can always hire a marketing person to do it for you. As for marketing yourself, it is more difficult, even if everyone tells you that you are smart and you can do it. The best way to learn about marketing is to do it yourself. Just because marketing is not a very difficult job, it still takes a lot of practice and study to do well. Like most things in life, you do best with practice.
I’ve decided not to do marketing myself. I’ve gotten some pretty good tips from other marketers’ blogs, but I’ve never actually applied them to my own business. I’ve been very fortunate to have a good business partner who taught me a lot about what I am doing, but I am not taking anyone’s advice lightly.
Marketing is hard. Like anything else, it takes practice. Like any other job, you can learn a lot from a good marketing source. And like any other job, you can learn a lot from a bad marketing source, too. In the short run, the best marketing sources have a pretty short time to deliver a quality product, and in the long run, it will be even harder to fail. But as I said, marketing is hard.
I’m going to be upfront here and say that I’m not a professional marketer. I’ve been a marketing consultant for less than a year now and I’ve been getting this wrong for more than a year. But I have learned a lot in the process and I’ve made some great friends along the way.
