If you’ve been reading this blog for a while it should be no surprise that I’ve been making this comparison for a couple of years now, but I had never really thought about it in the context of the average height of a male. To be fair to the height of the average male, I have to add that I’m not aware of any studies that measure actual physical heights, so I only have this information on the height of the average male.
What it is, is the height of the average male. What is it, then? I don’t really understand it at all, but Im just really, really curious about the average male’s height.
It’s not exactly the height of the average male, it’s definitely the average height of the male population of the U.S. It’s also not the average height of the male population as a whole. It’s the average height of the male population that were in the top quarter of height, but were not the tallest. The top 10% are all taller than the average male, whereas the bottom 40% of men are shorter than the average male.
42 inches isn’t that impressive because it’s not what we’d call tall. And its definitely not the average height of the male population of the U.S. because the top 10% are in the top 10% of height, and the bottom 40% are in the bottom 40% of height. The top 10% of men are taller than the average male, and the bottom 40% are shorter.
So how tall is 42 inches tall? I got asked this question a few times and I never really answered it, but I did come up with an answer. I think 42 inches is the average height of the average male, and because its not that tall, it might therefore be the average height of the male population of the U.S.
42 inches is only 10 inches shorter than your 5’7″ height, and so the average height of the male population of the U.S. is actually 10 inches shorter than the average height of a male in Australia. The average male in Australia is 5’1″. So the average male in the US is actually taller than the average male in Australia.
I think I had a similar issue when I was trying to figure out the average height of the population of the United States. I’m currently trying to figure out how tall my grandparents were, and I think that they were pretty big. So the average male in the US is bigger than the average male in Australia, and so the average male in the US is actually taller than the average male in Australia.
The reason I think the average male in Australia is taller than the average male in the US is because we have a smaller population, so a lot of people in the US have some sort of medical condition that makes them taller than average, or shorter than average. So the average male in Australia is actually taller than the average male in the US, and so the average male in Australia is actually shorter than the average male in the US.
