poetry vs poem

I was watching the movie, The Social Network and the trailer of the sequel, The Social Network: State of the Union. The trailer featured a scene in which a man is shown reading a poem in a bar. I was shocked that he was reading poetry. Turns out this is a common tactic for most people who are under the influence of the internet and the desire to share it with others. In my mind, the man was making a statement by reading a poem.

That’s the problem with a lot of these poems: They are all about how to be a better person, or the same as everyone else, or something. There is no real attempt to actually be a better person. It’s all about some abstract idea of the good guy, and the bad guy, and the hero, and all the other clichés of the “good guy” and “bad guy” archetype.

Well the good guy is the guy who makes things happen, and the bad guy is the guy who makes things happen to him. Its a constant battle. It’s like a war. A lot of people are very proud of being good guys.

No one is good because there is no such thing. The only good thing is that you are a person, and you should try to be the best person you can be. Good people take risks, and they do things that they don’t think are right, or that others think are wrong. Even if it means that they may lose their life. Its that sacrifice. That is the real thing.

The art of poetry is in expressing oneself through words, and the art of poetry is in the words themselves. Its much more about the journey. The poem is the journey itself. The poem is the journey, the journey to the poem, the journey from the poem to the person that is reading it, and the journey to the person who is reading it and thinking it, and the journey from the person who is reading it and thinking it to the person at the end of it.

In art, poems are often more important than the work itself. It’s a very short, concise, and often humorous work that expresses a thought or mood. But the true art of a poem is the journey it takes you on. The journey is the journey to the poem.

I think this is why I like poetry. I can’t read it. I don’t think I can read it. And yet, when I see a poem being read in a class, I find that I know where I am in the poem and can actually feel what the poet is feeling. I think this is why I love poetry. It’s not just a matter of the words being on a page, it’s the emotional impact of those words.
