When it comes to email, it’s so easy to lose sight of the big picture. But when you’re dealing with the stuff that you put on your trash, it can be a struggle to get rid of it. The problem is that it’s typically not in any way related to the content of the email itself.

In the new email app from Android M, users can now mark their emails as junk and delete them from their inbox. This is a pretty awesome feature. But as I mentioned above, there’s also another, more annoying way. Users can now also set the “Inbox” setting in Gmail to only archive messages that are unread for more than 24 hours. This is the default setting for me, but after a week I found myself having to delete many old messages from my inbox.

As it turns out, email will now be able to be sent from the trash container, and this will be a big step towards having everyone have a Gmail account with Gmail. This is also how I set this for Gmail.

This is good news for Gmail users. And it is even better because it means that people who have Gmail accounts will be able to send and receive email again. Gmail’s own email settings are a bit strange and difficult to configure for some people, but this will hopefully fix that.
