After some searching, I found a way to add a simple text box to a Google Doc, but it only works if you have an account with Google. If you don’t, this is the easiest way to add a text box to a Google Doc.
If you plan on creating more than one Google Doc, you’ll need to sign up for a new account. It is recommended that you create an account at google.com/oauth2/account.
A Google Doc that is signed in with your Google account will have a text box, where you can write your text. A Google Doc that is NOT signed in with your Google account will not have a text box.

Google Docs also has a version that you can simply use by hand, in which case you’ll need to create a Google Account to do so.
Google Docs has a fairly simple interface. You can create a new document, add a link, and then select the link you want to link to. When you are done, simply close the Google Docs window. If you are looking for a way to save your document as an image, Google Docs does that. You can either save to your hard drive or Google Drive.
The Google Docs app is a fantastic tool for keeping track of all your important documents and, when you are done with it, Google Docs will take the saved document and automatically read that in as a text file. However, Google Docs doesn’t even allow you to create a new document using the Google Reader app. You’ll have to run Google Reader in your browser to get that text file.
