I’m not sure I can make myself say sorry in spanish. I think I just don’t like feeling sorry for myself. I think it would be too hard to apologize for something that I’ve already done. I’m going to go with “no.
Yes, I’m sure you can’t. But it’s nice to know that you can, because if you can, so can I. The Spanish Language has a saying for this: “aprender a saludo” (the equivalent of “thank you”). If you can’t say it, then you can say it.
Im guessing that the saying is used to say thanks but no, thats not it. Im not sure what the equivalent of thank you could be, but thanks for not being mean to me is a good place to start.
While we’re on the subject of apologies, there is a way to express one without using the word “sorry”. You can say “lo siento tú” (sorry I did that). In this case, the s is pronounced as a long e. The letter “t” is a silent letter, so the e is silent. This is the Spanish equivalent of a simple “thank you.” Not bad.
How about if you had said no in the past, that said it was just a small number and a small gesture.
In Spanish, you can say lo siento tú no. This means “sorry, I didn’t mean it” or “I didn’t mean to do that.
The phrase sorry no se los puedo esperar. This is an expression used when somebody says they didn’t do something and you didn’t hear them say it. When you don’t hear it, it is probably a sign it’s not an important thing.
This is a really common expression in Spanish, but its usage is not so common. I don’t know if this is because people are more used to the english versions, or because there are less Spanish speakers out there. Its use is more common in the US than in Spain. I’m sure that most of you have heard both versions at least once.
This is a little more common. You are not generally expected to say sorry in Spanish. But if you say it after someone has done something, it may imply that it was the person who did something wrong.
In the first case you’re saying something that is very hurtful. In the second you’re saying something that is very apologetic. If the situation is very clear, people say sorry all the time just like they say sorry in english. If the situation is not very clear, they say sorry in english, but they say something more explanatory in spanish. But in general, they say sorry in english all the time.
