My own teacher days were pretty good ones. I had been teaching for a little over a year when I was hired by my local school district in my hometown. In this blog post, I’m going to talk a little about the best part of teaching: the teacher and student interaction. I’ll also be talking about how I wish I had more time to spend with my clients.
Teaching is the hardest job I’ve ever had. And I have to say it’s not as hard as it seems. The first time I took on a new responsibility I was excited to work with my students, but it was like they had a time line on me. I’d be at their school during their lunch period, I’d be in the hallways talking to them, and I’d be helping them with their homework.
I mean, when I was in high school I was an art teacher all wrapped up in a bow and ready to take on the world, but that was then. I was teaching in the classroom in a class of 20 kids, not a small town in a state that only had a population of 2,000 students. Now, I was taking on the business world, and that was a new experience. I was working with a group of people I barely knew.
I’ve been teaching in higher education for more than a decade now, and I’ve learned a lot from my students. But if I can take anything out of my students, it’s that they are willing to speak up when something’s really wrong. And when something’s wrong, the first thing they do is talk to an adult. And that’s the first step in the right direction.
The first step in the right direction is to talk to your students and find out what is wrong with them. And what is right. And what, if anything, they can do to improve. The next step is to talk to your boss and find out what she thinks should be done.
And the last step is to talk to your friends and find out what they think should be done. And what is right. And what, if anything, they can do to improve. And the last step is to talk to your parents and find out what they think should be done. And what is right. And what, if anything, they can do to improve.
It’s also worth noting that some essays and advice have been made available online for years, and yet, we still get the same questions about how to teach as you get when you talk to your friends.
The question of how best to teach is often the number one question that gets asked. And the thing that’s the most puzzling about it is that many of those who ask that question are the ones who are the most certain they are doing the right thing. The problem comes when that person isn’t sure if what they have is the right thing or not. They have a good idea of what they want to do but aren’t sure if they should do it.
Teaching is one of those things that is difficult to define. That is a very general statement, so I figured I would put some essays to try and answer that question. For starters, what are the four goals of teaching? First, teach to the students: how to teach to the students is really one of the easiest goals we can try and achieve. If we can be honest enough to say that we are always trying to be more direct, we can try to give students what they want.
Another goal is to give students what they want. The last goal is to teach them how to teach, and that is a very broad goal, so I am not sure if I am making a good case for teaching right now. I have a paper due tomorrow, and I have been thinking about some of the topics we will cover this year, and I am not even sure if I am giving my students a good enough overview of what they should be learning.
