The good news is that you can find out exactly which Python you need by looking at the output of the Python.exe command. The Python interpreter will tell you which version of Python you need to run. It’ll also tell you which version of the Python interpreter is running when you type Python.exe.

If you want to install a particular Python interpreter, you should not install the Python interpreter, which is the same thing you do to Windows. You can install Python as a separate install package by installing a separate python package.

The Python install package is just a binary file that contains the Python interpreter and a bunch of scripts, like the one for the Python shell, a Python 2.7 version of the Python interpreter, and a Python 3.7 version of the Python interpreter.
