In fact, there are no three stages of self-awareness. Each stage is an individual, separate experience which is often separated by the body.
The first stage is not self-aware, it’s just a random series of thoughts. Next is self-aware, but then it’s all about self-consciousness which is a third stage. The last stage is self-aware and is always conscious, but it’s just about everything else, from thoughts to emotions, and is usually not self-aware.
So it doesn’t matter how many stages you go through, or what you do, or what you’re thinking, if you’re not aware you can’t control it. It is the way the brain works.
Think of it as a series of stages to help you gain more control and insight.
We had always thought that the brain was self-aware (maybe), but the brain is actually not self-aware.
I had a bad feeling when I saw da Vinci Code in the theater that it was a metaphor for our own brains, but you can actually be a character in the game and not be aware that you’re in a time loop and that you are going back and forth in time and have no idea why you are in a time loop.
da Vinci Code is a game about the brains of criminals, and it involves the player’s brain being able to take a time loop and rewind a few times back and forth, allowing them to replay their own crimes over and over. I actually am very excited to play it because I haven’t played a game about taking time loops before. I have some serious reservations, though. I wonder if it will confuse me.
Yes, there are certain parts that I will be very hesitant to replay. I can only imagine the kind of havoc I will wreak on my own body…
Well, I suppose that’s one reason why this is a little difficult for me to get into. It’s too much of the same old stuff. For instance, when you get the first time loop, you’re a criminal, and your brain will have to rewrite all of the programming for the game that you had to do. Then you have to do it again, and again. And again. And again.
Well, duh, that’s just the way I usually play. But I also have a hard time getting into a game that involves doing anything more than talking to people. And just because I’m not a computer that can make a lot of things happen, doesn’t mean I can’t be an excellent programmer. This game sounds like a lot of fun, and I’m hoping that if all the code doesn’t work, I can fix it with a little help from my friends.
