Yeah, Deathloop is a horror game. It’s also an RPG. We’re also about to be making a sequel to our other game called Deathloop 2. I can’t wait to show you more of the game in the future, but I have to tell you that I’m still very much a beginner when it comes to video games. I was a really bad gamer on the old days, but I’m sure you can tell I’m still not an expert.
The first Deathloop game was about a guy who wakes up on an island with no memory of his past. Our new game is about a guy who wakes up on a beach with no memory of his past.
I guess we can all agree on that one. There’s more than a few times in Deathloop where the main character is just lying around, doing nothing, and not even bothering to remember why he’s on the island in the first place. It’s like the guy is living in a giant simulation, and even though we’re making his character a bit more realistic, we still want to get him back to his real life.
Another major theme of Deathloop is the fact that it’s about more than just “lying around.” It’s about being forced to do something that is obviously wrong. After the first night of his island, Colt wakes up in the middle of the night, only to have his computer shut down. Answering to a phone he finds in his room only to be told an answering machine that has been flooded with messages from people who want him dead.
This is one of the main things that makes Crooks and Liars so unique and fun. If you’re like me and you like to watch a game where you see characters getting caught in lies, it’s really nice to see characters who are more honest. I get so tired of seeing people who’ve just been caught in a lie at the end of the game.
