Most of the decisions we make are subconscious, and not only that, we carry those subconscious decisions with us until we act on them.
So, for example, I’m a big fan of the California Department of Finance, and I’ve always wanted to interview them. I’m sure you’ve also had that desire. This past summer I decided to take the plunge and interview the department. While it was an interesting experience, it also made me question why I was doing it.

Although you could say that the department is a little biased, there are actually a lot of neutral positions the agency takes. For example, the department has a position on Proposition 65 and has a lot of public relations work to do with the state legislature.
The department’s position is “the most progressive” and it is currently the third most progressive. That is because, well, it’s California. That’s the kind of position California has.
The reason the position is progressive is because the department of finance has a lot of very liberal public relations positions. The department also has an anti-tax position that’s very popular. Even its tax rates are quite liberal.
