I’m not sure how many people are interested in getting an internship near me, but I think it might be more than most of us realize. There are different kinds of internships in terms of location, type of work, and level of experience. I believe that everyone should be encouraged to explore the various options.
There are many ways for interns to get an internship near them. In small markets, for example, people may be willing to work for a company for a few weeks, or maybe even a few months, to gain experience in their field. In larger markets, you may be working with a company for a longer period of time, and may be able to gain more experience in your specific niche.
I’m not sure it’s a good idea to be working for an intern for a company that is trying to do a good job, but it’s not necessarily a bad idea to have an internship in that company. In my experience, though, you don’t want to work for an internship you don’t want to work for. You want to learn from someone who isn’t trying to push you around.
Companies often want interns to learn on the job, but they want to have a job for you when you graduate. They want you to stay after you graduate, because they don’t want to go through their process of evaluating your skills in a very cold, impersonal environment and not know what to do with your potential.
I have a friend who is a college intern at my local community college and she is a terrible intern. She has a bad attitude, is terrible at her job, and makes sure she does not show up to work on time, which is why she is always late. I have found this to be true in a very small percentage of companies I’ve worked for.
It’s like the old adage “If you have to ask, you’re not asking”. You need to be prepared for it. You do not have to be a brain surgeon to work in the tech industry. You just need to be prepared to put in a 20th hour before the clock runs out.
If you’re a college student who has to come in to a company office to report for an internship, you are going to need to be prepared for a 20th hour. You’re going to have to be efficient and on time. It’s just like you were in college: you’ll have to do it all quickly so that you can get back to something productive.
There are a lot of people in the tech industry who are so good at their jobs that they literally cannot be rushed. As a result, a lot of them make sure that they are always on time. If they had to be late, they would be late. But, I want to stress that being on time should not be your only concern. If you are not already, you should be prepared to put in a 20th hour before the clock runs out.
So you can understand why I’m here. After seeing the new trailer for Deathloop, I am now a believer in the importance of being on time. Don’t get me wrong, the new trailer is still a little wonky due to a few glitches, but I will always stand by the fact that the 20th hour is the most important aspect of any internship. If you can’t make it to the 20th hour, don’t even bother.
This is why you should not be afraid to apply for an internship in the first place. The only thing worse than sitting in a job interview that you are not prepared for is sitting in a job interview that you are unprepared for. Even if you are not applying for a job, you should still be prepared for the worst. That’s why everyone in my office is so excited to tell me about their impending deathbed internships.
