I think we can all be on the edge of synonymy. For me, synonymy is the idea that a phrase or word could easily be a synonym for another. Words like “shag” and “flamenco” might be synonyms as far as I’m concerned, but in some cases, they’re not. It all comes down to how you think about it, and how you use the word.
