Since the dawn of time, humans have been able to use stars and constellations to find the way to their destination. We can find the exact location of our ship in the sky and it will guide us home. And, we can use stars to help us get where we’re going. This is the same concept of technology: stars and technology.
Stars are not some magical, intangible source of information. They are actually what make our world go round. The fact that you can see a star that you cannot see a star is proof that, in fact, you can’t see that star. But, stars are also a way to find each other. If we were to look at the constellations, we might be able to see our ship, but because we can’t see it, we can’t find it either.
Because of these star phenomena, stars are very common in the night sky. Most star charts have stars on them. The star closest to the North Pole is the brightest, and the brightest and closest to the South Pole is the fainter. A few stars have been observed to move in the sky. These are called variable stars because they change in brightness so rapidly.
I once read that if the stars were actually moving, the Milky Way would have been a pretty boring blue spot. The stars are actually moving because the Earth is moving round the Sun. This does not mean, for example, that the Earth is moving in the opposite direction as the stars are moving. We get the Earth to turn, and the stars are moving around the Earth, not the other way round.
If you are watching a moving TV set, you can assume the stars are actually moving too, so how can they not be moving? The only time one can really be sure of is when the TV monitor is in front of the TV screen, so that the stars are actually visible. When the stars are not visible, it is not safe to assume they are actually moving.
It’s just a theory that I have come up with and I’m not 100% sure of. But I could probably use it as an excuse not to use a computer, but I’m not sure if I believe it.
