As a general rule, people who are good at giving hints are better at giving hints at all. They’re also able to give hints in a way that’s more entertaining. So, if you’re a hint-giver, you might be the one to give them. This is one of the reasons that I want to be a writer. I’d hate to have a life without writing.
Now that the official Deathloop trailer is out there, you can get a better idea of just how cool the game is. If you can get through the first few minutes of the game without getting frustrated, you might even find yourself enjoying the game a bit more. Because, to start, you’ll be shooting at robots, robots that can turn into real bullets.
Ok, I know I’m being a little melodramatic here, but just take the first two minutes of this game and you’ll be dead. The robots are so cool in Deathloop that you’ll die and come back to life. It’s amazing. But really, isn’t that what all games are about? I mean, yeah, I know, that sounds silly, but seriously, just shoot all these robots and you might just break out of a time loop.
Its not a time loop that you get stuck in. The game is about a time loop that you get stuck in, even if it seems like it’s just the screen and your character. One of the things that makes Deathloop so cool is that it takes place in the distant future, so youll be playing this game in about 20 years when a time loop with you trapped in it will run out of juice and you’ll just wake up in a time loop.
And because of that, there are hints throughout the game showing you stuff that you might find helpful. For example, if you’re playing with a lot of guns, one of the guns you have will have a little thing on the back that says something like, “I’m pretty much the only computer in the game.” If you’ve ever played in a time loop, you know that there’s usually no such thing as the only computer in an instance, but it’s still handy.
When you first start the game, youll start the game as Colt Vahn. But as you play, youll find your way to the island and youll find out things you dont expect. For example, youll find out that youll need to get your gun up to level 2 or 3 in order to get a gun turret.
In all seriousness though, this is a very vague message that lets you know youll need to climb up to the “highest level” (2 or 3) when you first arrive at the island. By this point in the game, this message is a very vague, generic “help me out by climbing up the highest level.
The message is there as a placeholder and is meant as a hint. It does not refer to the level of player proficiency required to play the game. It does not refer to the number of levels needed to be completed to get the gun turret level. It does include the word “skilled” but only once, and it should be a very vague word.
