When I’m at the grocery store, I usually feel like I’m in the checkout line. I’m ready to go, but I also feel like I’m trying to fill my cart with food. I’m not going to do that this time. I’m here to buy food that I can eat. I’m not here to keep myself from going over a certain amount of food on my cart.
The difference between Im and I is that I am not aware of my own biases. I don’t think I’m buying as much as I was before, or the same amount as I am now. I am able to shift my perspective to match that of the item I am purchasing. I am in the process of learning to do that.
The difference between a person who has a synonym list and a person who doesn’t is that a person who has an awareness of their own bias but can’t shift their point of view may actually be buying as much of the object as they were before. For example, a person with a synonym list may have a list of synonyms that they’re willing to buy.

We’ve all seen people that have a list of synonyms that they are buying for a new piece of furniture that they want to get rid of.
