I love story telling because it helps put you in the right place for a specific action, and I think it also helps when you’re talking with someone else to see where they are coming from.
The point of view we’d like to see Colt take is that of a survivor of the apocalyptic plague. When the plague broke out and everyone died, Colt was one of the few survivors. He was brought to this island, made to watch over the Visionaries, and taught to be the head of security, but he is also a survivor.
In a similar way, the point of view of the Visionaries I take is that of a survivor of the plague, but they have one of the few guns in the game that doesn’t feel that way. They are a survivalist group who are trying to protect the island they have been living on. Their goal is to destroy everything on the island in order to set it adrift with the survivors on it.
The point of view of the Visionaries I take is one of survival, but not of survival itself. Unlike Colt, the Visionaries I take have the power to change their minds and not to kill. They were put on this island by a group of survivors to make sure they wouldn’t leave without a fight. Now they have to survive to protect themselves and the island from people that might leave at any moment. This is an important bit of narrative I’d like to highlight.
I’m not a fan of the point-of-view of the main characters, in my opinion it’s an overused trope that has been used so many times before that it is simply annoying. As a storyteller I use the point-of-view of the characters I want to tell a story with as much care and detail as I can without overdoing it.
Ok, we are at the part where the characters begin to realize that they are not on Deathloop’s party island, so this is the part they need to focus on. The point of view is the character’s point of view of the action, not the party’s point of view of the action.
Of course you can use the characters point of view of the action as a means to tell the story, but it is the point of view of the character that is most important. Not the partys point of view.
Like all stories, the point of view story is a personal one that should be determined solely by the writer, and not the other way around. If the writers are going to use the character point of view, they should be doing it as the main character should be the most important person in the story. The characters point of view is the one that tells the story, and not the other way around.
That’s why a lot of writers go the wrong way with the point of view. Using the point of view of the characters as the main character is the wrong way to do it. It creates the feeling that the writer is not interested in the characters themselves, but only in the story. That’s not how writers work.
I think in general, the narrative point of view should be the character’s subjective perspective. This is what makes the writer’s job fun, and also what makes the narrative interesting and interesting. It also helps the reader understand what the characters are feeling. I think the best way to explain this is with a character in the movie The Matrix.
